It was bittersweet rereading that one and only post I had because I was so happy to read information about my sweet girl that I had mostly forgotten, but sad that I had not kept up writing about the details of her little life- how many other things have I let slip by, phases in her development that I may never remember again? It makes me sad to think of that, but there's no time like the present to change my habits, right?
So, let's give this another try! Here's what's going on now....
Eloise will be turning 3 in 11 days. Breaks my heart. We are throwing a big Frozen themed ice cream party for about a million of our closest friends and family. I wouldn't have it any other way. Eloise loves all the people in her life and is so excited to celebrate with all of them- she made the guest list!
She also loves Frozen, well, anything Disney, but Frozen is currently at the top. She knows every world to every song on that soundtrack by heart. We saw the movie when it came out in theaters around Thanksgiving when we were in Indiana and she saw it four more times before it was released digitally! Now we have the digital copy and have watched it at least another four or five times. In addition to Frozen, we have been watching a TON of YouTube videos of Disney World attractions. Next month we'll be going to Florida for three weeks and to Disney for two days! Eloise is well acquainted with Disney magic and is so so excited to go, it is so cool vicariously experiencing her excitement!

Let's see what else is going on in her world...
Potty training. Ugh. We had a great start- late in January we took like three or four days off from everything and stayed home so she could go bottom-less. No accidents. Now its over a month later and she has accidents every time we go out, so its not quite as smooth as I hoped it would be! But, huge win: she now only does poopy on the potty, so that's awesome and I'm sure the rest will come!
She gets to use the ipad on the potty...

Dresses. Eloise will only wear dresses, period. To get the girl in a sweatshirt you've got to seriously distract her and get it on before she notices what's going on, then to keep it on you've got to tell her how pretty it is and what princess would wear it (based on the color of the shirt matching the color of their dress, obviously). But mostly she just wears dresses- why fight it?
When we're at home its all about the princess dresses and accessories. She puts on a dress and becomes that princess and we all are assigned characters from the movie and have to act/sing accordingly. That's pretty much how it is constantly at home. Unless we're playing with princess figurines. If the only toy she owned was a set of princess figurines I don't think she'd care one bit. These princesses have been her favorite for many many months (years?) and they do all sorts of things. From potty training and time outs to birthday parties and ring around the rosy, these princesses do all the same things Eloise does- she definitely processes her life but acting things out with princesses, its truly amazing to watch!
Baby Brother- this girl has transformed into the most amazing, caring, loving big sister. She is so in tune with her brother's needs, its incredible! Ever since he was born she has passionately loved this boy, but, as I've said to some friends, "two year old love can be violent." There were a few months where I could never look away from the two of them because she'd be sitting on him or hugging him too hard, putting her hands over his mouth (why?!), etc. That was really hard, and I'm really just realizing that that is not the case anymore. She has become a lot more sensitive to what Peter wants (often, not always) and does things like sing to him when he's crying or hand him a toy if he's bored without a word from us. And he adores her. His face lights up when he sees her, its really so cool to watch! It is such a joy as a mom to see the love my kiddos have for each other!

We are so lucky to have this smart, beautiful, creative, energetic little girl in our lives, she is such a blessing to all around her!
Part 2, "Baby Brother" to come, I promise!
